„Living Danube Limes“ –
New EU Interreg DTP project
with PLUS participation

“Living Danube Limes” is a EU funded Interreg Danube Transnational Programme project and focuses on connecting, enlivening, researching, preserving and highlighting the Roman Danube Limes as transnational cultural heritage of enormous significance, in order to create a sound foundation for a future European Cultural Route. To achieve this, nineteen project partners from ten countries will collaborate on the exploration and protection of cultural sites as well as the development of green and sustainable tourism and cultural route solutions.
The PLUS will contribute with their expertise in Roman Provincial Studies and Museums pedagogy an essential part in the research of the history and development of the Austrian Danube Limes sites as well as in cultural mediation and museology. Furthermore, lectures and excursions with students are planned for the upcoming terms and presentations at conferences and museums.
The project, led by the Donau-Universität Krems, has a total budget of 3.2 million euros funded by ERDF, IPA II and ENI-MD. It runs from July 2020 to December 2022.
