My younger self: When I entered a lab for the first time, I had my own personal magic moment and I knew I wanted to work there! As a PhD student, I was fascinated by research and my supervisor always found time for me to talk for hours, even about a single blot. For me, there is and never has been anything more exciting than human pathogens.
What a PhD student can expect from me: A motivated student has me on his side, gets everything and can talk to me day and night. You get my full support during and after your thesis.
Me as a biomolecule: I thought it would be nice to be a kinase that just touches someone and fully activates immediately! But honestly, I think I’m more of a scaffold protein: bringing useful things together and shaping downstream research.
