Experience mathematics in everyday life, business and research

CAMMP (Computational And Mathematical Modeling Program) enables students to get actively involved in solving real, current problems with the help of mathematical modeling and the use of computers.

CAMMP day – mathematical modeling workshop

  • How do Netflix & Co always manage to recommend exciting movies to us individually?
  • How do word suggestions on smartphones come about?
  • How secure is our data in social networks?
  • How can a solar power plant be built as energy-efficiently as possible?
  • How do fitness apps work?
  • … and what does all this have to do with math?

Students get to the bottom of these and many other real-life questions during a CAMMP day. It becomes clear that (school) mathematics is actually of central importance to our society. In the action-oriented workshops, students experience an authentic application of mathematics and gain an insight into current research fields and problem-solving strategies in numerous STEM professions and degree programs.
