Please find below all answers to frequently asked questions about PLUS graduation ceremonies.

Location

• Where does the ceremony take place?

  The graduation ceremony takes place in the Große Universitätsaula, Universitätsplatz 1. The entrance is located in the Furtwängler Park.

• Where can I park?

  Parking is available in the Altstadtgarage Mönchsberg (access via Neutorstraße).

  We can punch your parking ticket (required for a cheaper parking rate) in the cloakroom.

• Is there a cloakroom?

  Visitors can check in their belongings free of charge. The cloakroom can be found on the ground floor.

• Is the building wheelchair friendly?

  Wheelchair access is possible via the lift (in the entrance hall on the left).

Guests

• How many guests can I bring to the ceremony?

  For current information, please refer to the information sheet that will be emailed to you prior to the event. This information will also be updated on the website on an ongoing basis.

• When can guests enter the Aula?

  Your accompanying persons can start to take their seats from 10:30 onwards.

• Are guests allowed to take pictures during the event?

  Photography and filming are permitted in the hall. Photos of the stage are not allowed.

• Are children allowed to attend the ceremony?

  Yes, children are allowed to attend your graduation ceremony.

• My accompanying person is unable to attend, may I register another person?

  Yes, please send any changes to the number of ceremony guest to

• Can I bring my dog with me?

  Only assistance dogs are permitted in the hall.

Ceremony

• How long does the ceremony last?

  The entire event should last approximately 1.5 hours.

• When should I arrive?

  For current information, please refer to the information sheet that will be emailed to you prior to the event.

• Will drinks be offered in the foyer?

  Yes, there is a possibility to buy drinks in the foyer.

Registration

• I have completed several study programmes, can I get a certificate for each one?

  Yes, please send the title page of your other degree, as well as your second Verleihungsbescheid (awarding certificate) to . Please make sure to send all documents before the registration deadline.

  Please note: you will only have to pay the attendance fee once, even if you are collecting two certificates.

• May I give a speech?

  One person is welcome to give a speech on behalf of all attending graduates. This is offered on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested, please contact us: .

• How do I pay the registration fee?

  The attendance fee can be paid during the online registration. Payments via Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, V PAY and Sofortüberweisung (bank transfer) are supported. Alternatively, you can pay the attendance fee by bank transfer. Account information will be provided during registration.

  Please note: You will only be fully registered to the graduation ceremony after the payment has been received.

• The ceremony is fully booked. Is there a waiting list?

  Unfortunately, for organisational reasons, we cannot offer places on a waiting list. Try to register via the link at a later date – if a person de-registers from the ceremony, a place will automatically become available.

• Can I pre-register for the next event?

  Unfortunately, this is not possible. Registration is only available through the online tool. Please refer to the website for the current registration information.
