Society for Sociology of Culture

„The Society was founded in 1994 as a scientific association with the purpose of cultivating and promoting the sociology of culture with the inclusion of the auxiliary sciences of significance to it in science and practice. For this purpose, lectures and conferences were and are organized and scientific work is supported.“

„Since 2005, the purpose of the Society has been expanded to include the creation of topic-specific discussion forums for graduate students, doctoral candidates, and graduates. In addition, the society makes it its business to,

• On the one hand, to promote communication among graduates of the sociology major,
• andererseits auch einen Informationsfluss und Gedankenaustausch zwischen der universitären Abteilung und den außeruniversitären Mitgliedern der Gesellschaft zu sichern.“
