StudentCard & Welcome Folder

Upon arrival in Salzburg students report to the International Relations Office to pick up the PLUS Student Card and the personal Welcome Folder.

Confirmation of Arrival

Bring along your Erasmus Confirmation of Arrival form to be signed if your home university will require this at the beginning of stay. A Confirmation of Attendance will be signed at the end of your stay if needed.

Validate your StudentCard

The PLUS StudentCard is the official student ID that provides access to students’ services/discounts on and off campus. After receiving the StudentCard it needs to be validated at one of the ServicePoints on the PLUS campus. Find here the best location and more about the StudentCard key features.

Join our Orientation Weeks

Before the beginning of each semester, the International Relations Office organizes orientation sessions for exchange students. During this introductory period, the exchange students not only receive important information about studying at the University of Salzburg, but also have the possibility to participate in a guided city tour or other events and to get to know each other. The final dates and programme will be published by e-mail and on our website. Though participation is NOT mandatory, taking part is highly recommended!

PLUSonline Studentmanagementsystem

PLUSonline Visitenkarte

As soon as you have confirmed your enrollment at the University of Salzburg by paying the Austrian Union Membership fee, the services via PLUSonline are fully available to you.

Simply log in to PLUSonline with your user name and password to find your personal “business card”.

You can use your “business card” to make personal settings (e.g. enter your home address), download documents (e.g. confirmation of enrolment), register for courses, view the timetable, and much more.

Course Registration

Register for courses* as soon as registration period starts. The registration period differs by department. You must register for all courses independently. We will not enroll you in any courses or assign you a fixed timetable. It is solely your decision which courses you would like to choose. You have already made a pre-selection in the Learning Agreement before mobility. The course teacher ultimately decides on your participation in the first lessons. If courses are already fully booked, please contact the teachers via e-mail and go to the first class to try to get in the course this way. You can still make changes to the first Learning Agreement at the beginning of the semester, depending on what is offered and on your final and binding registration. For this purpose, please use the Learning Agreement during the mobility.* In individual cases, course registration does NOT take place via PLUSonline! This includes, for example, optional courses at the Language Centre or sports courses at the  University Sports Institute (USI), which students can attend in their free time.

Learning Agreement during the mobility

For getting the Learning Agreement during the mobility confirmed, students again, have to contact their departmental Erasmus coordinator in Salzburg. Then, they are required to send the Learning Agreement during the mobility to their home university responsible person for signature. The deadlines for changes are set by the home university coordinators. At PLUS it is recommended to make changes within the first two weeks of the semester and to cancel course registrations that are not necessary.

Extending your Stay

We accept the confirmation of extension through an e-mail. Once this confirmation is submitted you will need to pay again the Austrian Union Membership fee per semester to get the extension finalized. You are more then welocme to contact us!
