The open spatial lab addresses various components of the ‘openness cycle’ introduced by Coetzee et al. (2020) and supports the principles of transparent documentation of spatial analysis workflows for informed decision making. The current emphasis of this research area is on reproducible research and open educational resources.
Activities around reproducible research involve:
- Implementation of an internal documentation framework for the CDL GEOHUM
- Assessments of the level of reproducibility of publications in GI conferences
- Development of guidelines for Reproducible Publications at AGILE Conferences
Activities on open educational resources cover:
- Assessment of skills required in the EO*GI and space sector
- Development of a framework for annotating, sharing and versioning training material in the context of the EO4GEO project
