As the largest academic library in the country, the University Library of Salzburg is a professional partner for study, research and teaching: knowledge platform, information hub, place of learning with atmosphere and representative venue for events.

DIVERSITY WITH FLAIR From the most modern library architecture in UNIPARK to the magnificent premises of the Salzburg prince archbishops of the Sub-Library Law or the historic library auditorium in the Main Library, users can expect a unique ambience at each of the University Library’s locations.
	SEARCH AND FIND WITH ONE CLICK The latest technical equipment guarantees the best conditions of use for everyone in every part of the library. In the library or from the comfort of your own home, you can use the UBsearch search engine to access, order, bookmark or reserve media and information services.
ANALOG AND DIGITAL As a “hybrid library” with a claim to sustainable use of resources, both analog and digital media are acquired, managed, archived, processed and made available. Electronic media such as e-books, e-journals, and databases are available to students, staff, and non-staff members of PLUS with various access options around the clock.
	OPEN ACCESS – THE FREE ACCESS TO KNOWLEDGE The University Library supports open access publishing in order to make scientific research results of the University of Salzburg and objects of cultural heritage freely accessible.
IMPARTING INFORMATION AND MEDIA LITERACY One of many core library tasks is to teach media and information literacy as a prerequisite for (pre-)scientific work. Competent librarians help to evaluate information correctly and make users fit for efficient research.
	PRESERVING AND DOCUMENTING The Special Collections preserve the oldest and most valuable treasures of the University of Salzburg from the 8th century to the present: manuscripts, cradle prints, early prints, hand drawings and prints. The University Archives preserve and document the history of the University and make historical knowledge accessible.
REGIONAL RESEARCH – COLLECTION FOCUS SALISBURGENSIEN As the largest academic library in the country, the University Library of Salzburg also holds the right to deposit copies in accordance with the Media Levy Act. It procures, indexes and preserves literature and information from and about Salzburg, preserves historically grown book collections and safeguards the cultural heritage of the region.
	OPEN DOORS Whether in a historical or modern ambience, the University Library as a sought-after art and cultural venue is an attractive event location for readings, exhibitions, concerts and other event formats for members of the University of Salzburg as well as the interested public.
