Remote access to electronic media for university members

Information from ITServices regarding VPN access for students and staff:

• For students
  VPN access for students allows the use of online resources (literature databases, e-books, e-journals, etc.) of the University Library that are subject to licensing requirements, even from outside the University network.
  NOTE: VPN access only allows secure use of restricted UNI or library services. Normal, unrestricted web surfing or connecting to internal university services (e.g., network shares) is not possible.
• For staff members
  With the VPN access, the University of Salzburg provides its staff members with the possibility to work from computers that are not in the university network as if they were at their workstation in the university.
