What will I learn?
The MSc course in Geography at the University of Salzburg allows students to specialize in one of the following three main areas: 1. During the specialization in Applied Geomorphology and Alpine Natural Hazards students acquire an understanding of processes and solving competence. Students learn about methods to comprehend and analyse the surface of the earth in the alpine mountains. 2. The specialization in Geographies of Uneven Development – Economic and Social Geography is orientated towards social sciences and focuses on the processes of social and economic uneven development on different levels. 3. The specialization in Urban Ecology and the Management of Ecosystems is an integrative course orientated towards planning, which imparts knowledge of the ecological basics of urban and regional ecosystems, spatial development and spatial development planning.

The special distinction of the MSc course in Geography at the University of Salzburg is its specialization in one of the offered areas. Which career opportunities do I have?
A wide range of occupations for MSc graduates in Geography include public administration (e.g., spatial planning, regional management, mobility, environment protection and nature conservation) and science, as well as numerous types of enterprises. Due to their comprehensive education and training, graduates are skilled in the collection and organization of data, analytical evaluation and decision-making processes, the communication of space-related information, and general management.
