Biosciences and Medical Biology
The Department of Biosciences and Medical Biology
Research-driven teaching at an international level is one of the hallmarks of academic education. At the Department of Biosciences and Medical Biology, we live up to this claim by exposing our students to a wide variety of cutting-edge basic and translational research topics and actively engaging them in a broad range of methods and technologies. The department’s 20 research groups address pressing health issues in areas such as cancer, immunology, allergy, aging and stress, and explore the structural and functional properties of biomolecules in health and disease. We work in interdisciplinary teams and combine our expertise in site-wide technology platforms/core facilities. The results of our work are published in international peer-reviewed journals and translated into practice in close cooperation with clinical and industrial partners.
