Focus
Gender equality is essential for sustainable development in all areas of life. Understanding the causes, structures, and processes of exclusion, discrimination, and inequality is central to interdisciplinary debates, such as those on Art in Context, Digital Life, or Health + Mind. Therefore, the supplementary study programme and specialisation programme “Gender, Diversity, and Equality” (GDE) address diversity, anti-discrimination, and equal opportunities. Based on research-led teaching from the digital, social, cultural, legal, and economic sciences, as well as natural and life sciences and theology, the GDE program promotes a critical perspective on gender differences, relationships, identities, and roles, and connects them intersectionally to other structural categories.
Target Group
The GDE program is aimed at all those who wish to understand the interplay of gender, power, and inequality from a theoretical and empirical perspective. This enables graduates to gain a critically informed view of barriers to equality and diversity and supports their promotion.
