The course provides in-depth knowledge of religious studies. Building on a subject-specific foundation in religious studies (Part I), transformations of religious traditions and literatures are explored (Part II). In addition to the basic historical foundations, the focus is on contemporary religion. The program is characterized by the combination of multiple perspectives on the field of religion and normativity by pursuing textual, medial, embodied, performative, and aesthetic dimensions. In addition, cultural forms of knowledge and normative orders (Part III) of societies with different models are described and critically reflected. The foundation of the theory, methodology, and disciplines of religious studies deals with the historical discourse on religion on the one hand and the diversity of methods due to the internal multidisciplinarity of religious studies on the other, such as the sociology, aesthetics, psychology, economics, ethnology, and political science of religion.
