Research at Religious Studies Salzburg
The research focus of Religious Studies in Salzburg is on forms of contemporary religiosity and spirituality. In this context, questions of religious and spiritual identity as well as the creation of meaning in multi-faith spaces such as houses of religions and the study of spiritual influences, their genesis and impact on culture and society are particularly accentuated fields.
Methodologically developed in Salzburg are field research and interviews as well as methods that explore spatial constructions of meaning and questions of spatial aesthetics with virtual reality, eye movement research and Lego Seriouse Play.
The culture-transforming and cross-cultural aspect is deepened in the Crossculture Religious Studies project, a cooperation with universities in Munich, Seoul, Yogyacarta, Nigeria and Haifa.
