MDPI

The University Library of Salzburg has signed a membership agreement with the open access publisher MDPI. Corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Salzburg can publish open access in one of MDPI’s 190 Gold Open Access journals at discounted prices and with automated cost processing.

Funding via the Open Access publication fund is granted depending on the availability of funds (please apply for funding). The 20% discount applies regardless of whether the costs are covered by the publication fund, and can be combined with other discounts.

CC-BY

How are eligible authors identified?
Authors are identified by the affiliation and institutional email domain given when submitting the article.
Please use the university email address (max.mustermann@plus.ac.at) during submission.

Process

  1. Eligible publications are identified by the publisher upon submission of the article.
  2. The corresponding author needs to submit a request for funding at . Otherwise it’s assumed there is other funding available to cover the invoice.
  3. Authors are informed by e-mail if the publication fees are covered by the institution. If funding from FWF or EU projects is indicated, funding needs to be covered by the project. If the costs are not covered by either the FWF or the institution, the corresponding author will receive an invoice for the discounted publication fee.
  4. The publication is published open access under a Creative Commons licence.
