Sub-Libraries Alte Residenz

The three locations of the branch library of Classical Studies are located in the Alte Residenz. They provide a stock of approx. 70,000 print media.

 

Main focus

Sub-library Classical Philology:

Ancient Greek and Latin texts and their indexing – Literary and cultural history and science – Grammar and historical linguistics – Religion and mythology – Philosophy and subject sciences – Rhetoric – History and Geography – State and legal system of the ancient world – History of Reception – Subject didactics of Greek and Latin teaching

Sub-library Ancient History:

Social, economic and cultural history of the ancient world – Ancient armies and warfare – Roman provincial history – History and culture of Egypt – Written culture of the Aegean and the Ancient Near East – Epigraphy – Numismatics

NOTE: The Alte Residenz/Alte Geschichte branch library will be permanently closed by the end of 2024 at the latest.
The holdings will primarily be integrated into the Alte Residenz/Classical Philology Branch Library, which will be expanded for this purpose. We will try to keep the relocation phase as short as possible; however, there may be interruptions in usability. We ask for your understanding in this regard.
