What will I learn?
Students of the BEd teacher training programme for the subject of English will hone their language skills (the target is to reach C2 level in both written and oral production), and gain knowledge in the fields of linguistics (the analysis of the various manifestations and uses of the English language), literary studies (the analysis of English literature from different perspectives), and culture studies (information about the cultural particularities of English-speaking countries). They will receive a modern teacher training based on current scientific findings geared to prepare students for the challenges of teaching English (planning lessons, evaluating assessments, teaching language skills and knowledge, etc.). Students will be trained to teach English at secondary schools and other educational institutions both professionally and methodically.

The BEd teacher training programme for the subject of English prepares students to teach English at secondary schools and other institutions of education (adult education etc.). Due to the comprehensive education students receive in all areas of English and American Studies, graduates can choose from a wide range of careers. For example, the fields of journalism and other media-related jobs, culture and educational management, translation, tourism, international trade, publishing and library work are ideal destinations for English and American Studies graduates.
