I work on different areas of sociology and social sciences from a global and translocal perspective. My research focuses on:

  • Comparative sociology and social change (especially in reference to Europe and Asia)
  • Migration and mobility
  • Racism and institutional whiteness
  • Intersectionality (simultaneous inequality structures of gender, social origin, and race)
  • Sustainability and socio-ecological transformation
  • Regional development in peripheralized places and their interconnectedness
  • The role of creativity in the analysis of human-nature interaction

I am interested in bringing together different approaches and findings from various fields of research.
