I work on different areas of sociology and social sciences from a global and translocal perspective. My research focuses on:
- Comparative sociology and social change (especially in reference to Europe and Asia)
- Migration and mobility
- Racism and institutional whiteness
- Intersectionality (simultaneous inequality structures of gender, social origin, and race)
- Sustainability and socio-ecological transformation
- Regional development in peripheralized places and their interconnectedness
- The role of creativity in the analysis of human-nature interaction
I am interested in bringing together different approaches and findings from various fields of research.
