Research Agenda

Societies are fundamentally shaped by the movement of people, artifacts and ideas. Migration and mobility, and their regulation, are part and parcel of people’s everyday lives. They render human existence possible and form social structures and relationships.
Our key goal is to critically engage with and forward knowledge on how migration and other forms of mobility (re)produce inequalities, foster social and cultural change including translocal dynamics, and allow for agency and creativity. Based on this broader understanding, we conduct cutting-edge research in the following six clusters:
