Main Focus of Research
In my research, I focus on motivated social cognition, i.e. on information processing which is influenced by motivational aspects and shapes human behavior in social interactions. Thereby, I try to explain reactions to threats, as well as processes of social influence and the initiation of change. I also aim to investigate neural and physiological processes involved in experiencing and managing threat.
Applied perspectives of this research can be derived from the design of functional interactions as well as the avoidance of dysfunctional interactions and the analysis of different consulting approaches (e.g. coaching, mentoring, supervision, mediation).
An overview of the current research of my department can be found here.
