Research: I mainly use electrophysiological methods (M/EEG) to understand how our brain processes acoustic and visual input into meaningful representations (e.g. speech) and which factors influence this ability. The individual characteristic to infer phonetic information from mouth movements, hand in hand with the meaningful integration from different senses belong among these factors. Progress in this area has implications for the understanding of listing skills following hearing damage or speech rehabilitation following a Cochlea Implant.
