Denis Anwar is a doctoral researcher with the GEOTRADE project. Before joining the team, Denis worked as a political consultant at Berlin Global Advisors, where he specialized in Government Affairs with a focus on German and EU energy policy (2021-2024). In this role, he engaged with topics that intersected with geostrategy and security.
Denis brings a diverse professional background in both business and politics. He holds a Master of Arts in International Political Economy from King’s College London, where his thesis explored the relationship between income inequality and the effectiveness of economic sanctions. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim.
In addition to his research, Denis serves on the Board of the German Council on Foreign Relations‘ Youth Organization (Junge DGAP).
