Marco Fölsch is a PhD fellow at the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Salzburg since March 2019. He holds a BA in Political Science from the TU Dresden and an MA in Political Science from the University of Vienna. In his Master’s thesis “Explaining Vote Choice: The Effect of Party System Polarization on Spatial and Competence Voting”, he studied the effect of polarization on vote choice mechanisms. His research interests include aspects of political participation, political psychology and party competition. He is involved in the Horizon 2020 project “Populism and Civic Engagement” (PaCE).
