Julian Erhardt is a postdoctoral researcher in Political Science Methods at the University of Salzburg. He completed his PhD at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern (2018–2023) and then worked there as a postdoctoral researcher (2023–2024). His research interests lie in the fields of public opinion research and political sociology with particular focus on political support (support for democracy, political trust, populism, national identity), COVID-19 pandemic threat and emotions, social capital (social trust, civic engagement) as well as representation. His research has been published in European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics, European Political Science Review and Swiss Political Science Review, among others.
