The Austrian Ecolabel
The ‘Austrian Ecolabel’ was created in 1990 on the initiative of the Ministry of the Environment. This informs the public about the environmental effects of products and services. The Austrian Ecolabel is a guarantee of high quality combined with low environmental impact of the labelled products and services. The Ecolabel Guideline UZ62 ‘Green Meetings’ fits into this system, with which Austria plays a pioneering role in the certification of ‘green events’. This guideline sets environmental requirements both for the organising company itself and for all aspects of a meeting.

Certification of meetings according to UZ62
PLUS has been a licence holder of the Green Meetings eco-label since 2015. It is possible to certify events at the PLUS. For this, certain criteria of Ecolabel Guideline 62 must be fulfilled. The Green Meeting Coordination of the PLUS is available for initial contact and certification. In this way, the University of Salzburg endeavours to make a contribution to resource conservation, climate protection, regional value creation and awareness-raising.
