PLURIFORM-Meeting in Salzburg
As part of the project “PLURIFORM: Approches plurielles dans la formation et l’enseignement dans les EES/Plural approaches in foreign language teaching: training and teaching at universities”, the importance of multilingualism and concrete multilingual practices in the foreign language curricula of Austrian and French universities is being examined. The project is oriented towards EU educational priorities and responds to socio-political needs in a multilingual society. PLURIFORM is an STC project with three participating universities: Université de la Réunion, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg and the University of Vienna.
The third project meeting took place on the 5th and 6th December 2024 in Salzburg, whereby seven scientists from all three participating universities met. This meeting focused on discussing the initial results of the analysis of the Austrian curricula and the coding of the FLE corpus (Français Langue Etrangère – French as a foreign language). A guideline for interviews with language teachers and language centre heads was also developed during the meeting.
The next step is the implementation and evaluation of the interviews and the completion of the analysis of the curricula. A final meeting of the project consortium is planned in La Réunion in August 2025, during which the project and its results will be presented.
