Panel Discussion “Dying of Knowledge – the loss of Local Knowledge”, 20.11.2013
As part of the event series “Local knowledge” a panel discussion will take place on 20th November 2013 in St. Virgil, Salzburg, concerning the importance of a form of knowledge that is increasingly lost and whose disappearance is perceived as a loss for many. Participants are, inter alia, Hubert von Goisern, the evening is moderated by Clemens Sedmak.
International Conference „Appreciating Local Knowledge”, 21. – 22.11.2013
From 21 to 22 November, the event series “Local Knowledge” is concluded with an international conference in the Education house, St. Virgil in Salzburg. Speakers from different countries and disciplines will talk about in what local knowledge of their experience and analysis consists, which risks and opportunities it offers and how in times of globalization it can be preserved, changed and networked.
New Release: Countering Poverty
Just now the new book by Clemens Sedmak has appeared in Bohlau publisher, containing an investigation of fundamental issues on poverty together with development strategies, how poverty can be fought successfully.
