Prof. Marcus Hernig: “From Japan and China to Europe – Sketches of a Trip between Cultures.”

The lecture is actually a travelogue:during 20 years of everyday life in China and 3 years in Japan, author Marcus Hernig searched for answers. How is China reflected in Japan; what characterizes China today; where does the Far East stop; where does Asia end; where does Europe begin? Such major questions are best answered through small experiences on the road, with stories and observations that arose on the way from Kyoto and Shanghai across China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia to Germany.
