The Center for Ethics and Poverty Research of the University of Salzburg, jointly with other civil society organizations, received the “Rose of Human Rights” for its commitment to the dignified handling of impoverished migrants. “The Rose” is awarded every year on 10 December from the Platform for Human Rights for exceptional contribution to the maintenance and defense of civil and human rights.

A burglary in your own home is a shock. The likelihood of such an offense will now be predicable due to a Police software that was co-developed by the University of Salzburg. With the new forecasting software, the Austrian police should be able to better predict the risk of a renewed intrusion, and accordingly, increase their presence in the area, thus preventing further break-ins.
