Celebration 50 Years of Classical Studies

Within the framework of the 50th anniversary celebration of Classical Studies, there will be a Winckelmann-lecture by PD Dr. Sabine Ladstätter (Director of the Ephesus Excavations) at the Unipark on 13 December at 19:30.

On Fol’s traces to the Plankton Wonders

The 95 m deep Bay of Villefranche-sur-mer at the Cote d’Azur (France) is well known for its highly diverse plankton community. The Swiss university professor Hermann Fol (1854-1892) was the first who described several species of the fascinating tintinnid ciliates (house-forming protists) from this site. The species-rich tintinnid community of the Bay of Villfranche-sur-mer prompted a sampling trip within a FWF-funded project to the Observatoire Océanologique de Villefranche.

PROF. ANDREAS DÜR RECEIVES CONSOLIDATOR GRANT OF THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH COUNCIL (ERC)

Andreas Dür, Professor of International Politics in the Department of Political Science of the University of Salzburg, is the recipient of a Consolidator Grant of the ERC.
