A few days after the protests began at the Kiev Maida in early December 2013, the infamous Russian TV presenter, Dmitry Kiselyov, was awarded a symbolic Oscar for “nonsense and lies.” From the beginning, the media played a very important role in the still simmering conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

For his outstanding contribution, the University of Salzburg bestowed the title of Honorary Senator upon Dr. Franz B. Humer, a native of Salzburg, on 22 April 2016.

The Long Night of Research, held on Friday, April 22, was a great success in Salzburg. Around 2,000 visitors came to the different scientific stations at locations of the University of Salzburg and gained insights into complex research topics.
