From 6 to 10 June, “Protist 2016” took place in Moscow where renowned and young aspiring scientists participated in the forum of the International Society of Protistologists. The topics of the presentations and posters on unicellular eukaryotic included, among others, evolutionary, phylogenetic, molecular and environmental issues.

The short film “Innovation through Cooperation” shows the research of the Christian Doppler Laboratory of the University of Salzburg in cooperation with international companies, on biosimilar characterization. The research is about biosimilars, which represent affordable alternatives as successor preparations to expensive biopharmaceuticals.

Overlooking the sea, the Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale (OGS) held a workshop on marine microzooplankton from 23 to 27 May, 2016.
