The Summerschool is a cooperative project of the Universities of Graz, Vienna and Salzburg. The program includes visits to the UNESCO World Heritage cities of Salzburg, Graz and Vienna. Coordinator of the University of Salzburg is the communication scientist, Kurt Luger.

Within the framework of the 19th Congress of the Austrian Mathematical Society and the anniversary of the German Mathematic Association (ÖMG-DMV-Congress 11 – 15 September), approximately 450 mathematicians from 34 countries are meeting at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Salzburg. It is the largest all-mathematical event in the German-speaking world. At the same time, the Statistiktage is taking place in cooperation with the Austrian Statistical Society.

The Orientation Week for Erasmus and Exchange Students who will study at the University of Salzburg in the upcoming winter term 2017/18, will be held from Monday, 18 September to Friday, 22 September 2017.
