Application Deadline: 28 June 2023: SCEUS invites applications from interested students who will contribute with their PhD projects to the topic “Challenges of European Integration”. We invite applicants with research interests in (1) political science, (2) law, or (3) economics and willing to engage and cooperate with the other disciplines.

In our transdisciplinary project “AlpLakeChange”, funded by the Austrian Academy of Science, we examine changing biodiversity in high alpine lakes in the National Park Hohe Tauern, as a consequence of anthropogenic climate change. We analyze the interplay of ecological, geo(morpho)logical and societal factors.

We welcome our new colleague Lisa Windsteiger at the PLUS Department of Economics. Lisa joins our department as an assistant professor (tenure track) after international positions at the London School of Economics and the renowned Ifo Institute. Her research focuses on inequality and redistribution, public attitudes toward economic policies, and people’s fairness perceptions. A native of Upper Austria, she is the first woman in the team of professors at our department. Welcome Lisa!
