PLUS economists successful at the Night of Excellence
At this year’s Night of Excellence at the University of Salzburg, Florian Huber, Jörg Paetzold and Hannes Winner were awarded the Kurt Zopf Prize for their outstanding research achievements. Petra Truschnig received the Young Investigator Award for the best doctoral thesis which is supervised by Hannes Winner. Congratulations!
New Book: What is a good childhood?
The book What is a Good Childhood? by Johannes Drerup and Gottfried Schweiger has been published in German by Reclam Verlag and in English by Palgrave Macmillan. It explores the question of what constitutes a good childhood from various perspectives and examines both historical and moral aspects of childhood. Key themes include the importance of material resources, interpersonal relationships, and education for children’s development. The authors place particular emphasis on the role of autonomy as an overarching value in the context of familial and public education.
