4 – 15 October: Exhibition “Help at Close Range”

“Help at Close Range” is an exhibition of the aid organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF). MSF gives visitors an insight into how humanitarian relief works. The Department of Geoinformatics – Z_GIS shows how satellite images and spatial analysis help to plan these operations more efficiently. The exhibition will be held 4 – 15 October at the Salzburger Mozartplatz.

3 October: Presentation of the Documentary that Resulted from the Rwanda Excursion

The film “kwibuka – gedenke” is about the experiences, visions and impressions of Rwanda 20 years after the genocide, which a group of students from Linz and Salzburg were able to experience in the country during an excursion in June 2014. Under the main focus of genocide research, the memory and culture of Rwanda were linked and processed with the experiences of students from Austria. In dealing with the genocide in Rwanda, the treatment of one’s own history is reflected.
