But even on your own doorstep, there are precarious human rights areas, whether in the care of institutionalized children, in dealing with disabled people or in the living situation of people at risk of poverty.

The Austrian Academy of Sciences presented this year’s awards for excellence in research on the 10th of December. Dipl. Ing. Dr. Volker Ziegler from the Department of Mathematics received the Edmund and Rosa Hlawka Prize for Mathematics.
