Big Data Analysis for Humanitarian Aid
Researchers in the Department of Geoinformatics at the PLUS have been working for several years on national and international research projects on topics sich as humanitarian management, refugee management, natural disasters as well as COVID-19. They have analysed and evaluated billions of geo-referenced social media data. The results serve stakeholders as an important basis for decision making.

The uni should be fit for the future / science and education an investment in the future – the new rectorate of the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg under leadership of Hendrik Lehnert has presented a conclusive concept for a new university structure, which is currently being coordinated internally.
