Political Scientist Spilker Awarded the Ars Docendi State Prize
Gabriele Spilker, Professor of Empirical Research Methods at the Department of Political Science at the University of Salzburg, was awarded the Ars Docendi State Prize for excellent teaching at Austrian universities yesterday evening in Vienna. The prize is awarded in five categories each endowed with 7,000 euros. Spilker is the winner in the category “Learning outcomes examination culture and its anchoring in the course”
Big Data Analysis for Humanitarian Aid
Researchers in the Department of Geoinformatics at the PLUS have been working for several years on national and international research projects on topics sich as humanitarian management, refugee management, natural disasters as well as COVID-19. They have analysed and evaluated billions of geo-referenced social media data. The results serve stakeholders as an important basis for decision making.
