The University Council approved the proposals of the designated Rector Hendrik Lehnert, and chose Nicola Hüsing, Katja Hutter, Barbara Romauer and Martin Weichbold as the new Vice-Rectors. The new Rectorate will start work on 1 October, 2019.

In a ceremony on the “Day of the University” yesterday, Rector Heinrich Schmidinger bade farewell. Previously, he had discussed with his successor Hendrik Lehnert on the past, present and future of the Paris Lodron University Salzburg.

The Kurt-Zopf-Förderpreis 2018 was awarded on Wednesday, 24 April, 2019, to the plant ecologist, Stefan Dötterl, the sleep researcher, Manuel Schabus, and the mathematician, Wolfgang Trutschnig. The Salzburg scientists each received prize money of € 5,000 for their outstanding publications.
