On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the China Centre will hold a festival on 25 October, 2019, featuring Chinese dance, traditional Chinese acrobatics and music. The China Centre looks back on 20 years, during which it promoted exchanges between Austria and China, as well as through summer exchange programs in both Europe and China. All interested are cordially invited to attend. Free entry.

On 5 November, 2019, the communication scientist, Elisabeth Klaus, is being awarded the Gabriele Possanner Award for her life’s work. The award ceremony will take place in the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research; the laudation will be given by Professor Nikolaus Benke from the University of Vienna.

This year Japan and Austria celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the bilateral friendship treaty. On this occasion, the University of Salzburg is organizing the conference “Japan and Viennese Modernism” in cooperation with the city and province of Salzburg.
