Titan Arum- The Genome of the World’s Biggest Flower to be Sequenced
Salzburg biologists Anja Hörger and Stephanie Socher receive 150,000 Euros in funding for their courageous project idea within the framework of the new “1000 ideas program” from the Austrian Science Fund FWF. Over the next two years the young scientists “Immortal Titans”, will analyze the huge genome of the Titan Arum, the largest flower in the world. The “1000 Ideas Programme” is intended to support high-risk research in order to increase Austria’s innovative strength.
