Internationales Symposium: Preventing Childhood Obesity in Preschoolers

Do you know the Finnish city of Seinäjoki or EPODE in France? These projects have succeeded in drastically reducing the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children in their communities. Fortunately, there are now positive examples available in the specialist’s world showing HOW we can enable a healthy growing up of children.
It is undisputed that everyone must act in concert in order to reduce children’s obesity in the long term. Together with stakeholders from science, civil society and politics, we discuss how this collaboration can be achieved even better. Together we will exchange and improve our knowledge on putting action plans of WHO, the European Commission and national governments into practice and to facilitate a healthy lifestyle of children.
The objectives of the symposium are:
• to stimulate the networking between experts in early childhood education, health promotion, nutrition, physical activity and politics, and
• to bring health promoters, policy makers and scientists together to exchange current international findings,in order to foster the implementation of evidence-based practice for adopting a healthy lifestyle in childhood in Europe.
We are delighted that prestigious national and international experts with a lot of practical experience support the symposium and look forward to your participation.
