Film screening on Thursday, 19.12., from 14:30 in HS 435 at the NLW

 The film is about transition town initiatives and urban struggles using the example of the Ruhr area. After more than 300 screenings in Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, it can now be seen for the first time in Salzburg.

Wasteland, vacancy, anonymity, stagnation – not everyone between Dortmund and Duisburg wants to accept this. Quite the opposite. More and more people are discovering opportunities and intervening in everyday urban life. A living room in the middle of the street, neighborhoods, community gardens. District stores, repair cafés and tenant initiatives are springing up in the niches of cities – independent, self-determined and together.

This film will be screened as part of the master’s seminar “Geographies of Inequalities”.
