A comprehensive structural reform at the Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) came into force at the beginning of 2022. The PLUS now consists of six faculties. The Faculty of Digital & Analytical Sciences (DAS) is completely new with its four departments:  Artificial Intelligence & Human Interfaces, Computer Science, Geoinformatics and Mathematics.

The new Faculty of Digital & Analytical Sciences aims to be a national leader in basic and applied research in the digital and analytical disciplines.

„The new faculty will also continue to engage in interdisciplinary research projects with academic and non-academic cooperation partners. The important topic of digitalisation influences us in all areas of life – a specialised scientific approach to this topic from different perspectives will be essential for society,” explains Dean Bathke on the strategic orientation in research.

As far as teaching is concerned, Arne Bathke adds, an attractive portfolio of degree programmes at the DAS provides the foundation for entry and further training in many modern professional fields that are in high demand (including teaching at schools).
