On Wednesday, June 12th, we organize an event on the Gaza conflict at the Department of Sociology (HS 383, 9:15 – 11:00). The event will be moderated by Wolfgang Aschauer and Dzeneta Karabegovic. Helga Embacher from the Department of History will speak about the historical background of the conflict. Additionally, Saul Takahashi, Professor of Human Rights and Peace Studies at Osaka University, will be joining us online. Having been responsible for Gaza at the UN for many years, he offers a rare opportunity to gain insight into the Palestinian perspective of the conflict and to discuss different perspectives at university.
