The CIVIS Days 2024 will take place for the first time at Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) from 23 to 26 September and we want to make the most of this wonderful opportunity to celebrate Salzburg’s connections with the world

On behalf of the PLUS and its CIVIS community, we would like to invite you to the CIVIS International Reception on 25 September 2024, from 19:00 to 22:00, in the Große Universitätsaula (Great University Hall). The theme of the CIVIS International Reception is ‘Envisioning Europe in a Changing World’. We are at a turning point in human history, where rapid changes are reshaping the global landscape. At the CIVIS International Reception, our keynote speaker, Professor Berthold Rittberger (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich), will shed light on Europe’s (potential) role in addressing the challenges and opportunities of our time.

This evening will also mark important milestones in the CIVIS Alliance, such as the founding of a single, joint legal entity, and will be celebrated with all rectors of the participating institutions in attendance.

Paris Lodron University Salzburg has been a member of the European university alliance CIVIS since 2022.

The European Universities are the most ambitious project in the Erasmus+ education programme to date. The CIVIS European University Alliance, which brings together 11 research-intensive universities and is expanding its partnership to include six renowned African universities, is strongly committed to social engagement and socio-cultural participation. Once a year, the CIVIS community meets at one of the partner institutions as part of the so-called CIVIS Days to work on joint projects, exchange ideas and develop future initiatives.
