Christiane Baumeister (U Notre Dame) visits Department of Economics
Christiane Baumeister, the Lambert Family Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame, visited our department from July 10th to 13th. She is an empirical macroeconomist who specializes in modeling energy markets and studying the transmission of monetary policy. Christiane is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and has published articles in the most-prestiguous journals such as Econometrica or the American Economic Review. During her visit at the PLUS Department of Economics, Christiane actively collaborated with members of our department on projects involving the integration of micro and macroeconomic data in econometric models, as well as nonparametric techniques for oil price forecasting.
