The conference will take place at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Salzburg at HS 101 bzw. HS 104 (Universitätsplatz 1, Salzburg, ground floor).

The conference “Religious Studies in Interfaith Contexts” aims to do justice to the exciting role and challenge of Religious Studies, which is an observer and indirect or direct actor in interreligious contexts.The existing studies on interreligious dialogue as well as research professorships and initiatives of religious studies scholars in projects of dialogue show that religious studies is active in interreligious dialogue in research and analysis as well as in pedagogical and formative areas.The resulting themes and issues will be reflected in an interdisciplinary way at this conference. Methodological and thematic issues of interreligious practice, fields and forms and their critical analysis form its subject.
