Main focus of research:
My research considers how the medium of festival as a particular event genre influences the wide variety of performance practices and the aesthetic dimension of contemporary art music. It sees contemporary music festivals as arenas where new forms of sociality, mobility and public interactions are constantly produced and contested. In my research I seek to unravel how the current process of proliferation of new music festivals informs and facilitates the development of new music and how it provides new modes of legitimization for new music.
